Dr. Charles Travis is currently a senior research fellow with the Trinity Long Room Hub at the University of Dublin, Trinity College. He possesses PhD and MA degrees in geography (University of Dublin and Toledo), an MA degree in Mass Communication (Bowling Green), and a BA degree in psychology (Toledo). In addition to his work on the IMPACT-EV project, he is conducting research in the digital and environmental humanities and the development of humanities geographical information systems (HGIS) methodologies and applications.

He has published work in the International Journal of Humanities and Arts Computing, International Journal of Geographical Information Science, CITY, and co-edited a volume entitled History and GIS: Epistemologies, Considerations and Reflections with Springer Press. He is editorial board member of the journal Literary Geography, paper reviewer for the International Journal of Geographical Information Science, Geographical Review, Transactions in GIS, and Progress in Human Geography. In regards to the IMPACT-EV project, Dr. Travis is particularly interested in humanities research impacts, how they coincide with developments in technology, and how both manifest pedagogically, socially and culturally.
